Act Alliance external evaluation visit was successfully conducted in Lalitpur on 27 June 2016. The visit was scheduled for evaluation of NPL-151 project named “Earthquake Emergency Project” in Lalitpur district conducted by Dan Church Aid (DCA) and its implementing partner Friends Service Council Nepal (FSCN).
The evaluation team visited Lakuribhanjyang, Mane Dobhan and Lubhu of Mahalaxmi municipality.

The team first visited FSCN office in Imadol where they were welcomed by FSCN executive head Mr. Surya Bahadur Thapa who also highlighted the activities of NPL-151 project. The team then moved to Mane Dobhan (boarder of Lalitpur and Kavre districts) and observed tunnel farming supported by DCA/FSCN under livelihood support program. The team then conducted focus group discussion (FGD) with local beneficiaries.

After Mane dobhan, the evaluation team moved to Lakuribhanjyang where household visit and FGD was performed. The team also observed latrine and hand washing system of Basuki Secondary school constructed by support from DCA/FSCN along with some household latrines and shelters constructed by the support from Act Alliance, DCA/FSCN.


After Lakuribhanjyang, the team visited and observed RCC sedimentation tank of Tallo Dobhan Water Supply Scheme in Lubhu which was jointly constructed by FSCN/DCA, OXFAM, the local water user committee and Water Supply and Sanitation Division Office – Lalitpur. The water supply scheme is a PPCP (public private civil society partnership) model project and is currently benefiting 1,100 households of Lubhu.
