DCA & FSCN in National Reconstruction Mega Campaign Launching Program in Bungmati

Honorable Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli inaugurated National Reconstruction Mega Campaign Launching Program in Bungmati. He mentioned about reconstruction master plan of Bungmati. Many organizations working in the sector of post earthquake recovery and reconstruction displayed their work through their exhibition stalls. Friends Service Council Nepal (FSCN) along with its partners Dan Church Aid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) also displayed their various ongoing activities in Bungmati under Earthquake Emergency Project (EEP) which was launched immediately after April 25 earthquake. The activities were displayed in the exhibition stall by means of a video documentary, wood carving display by the trainees under livelihood support project and through various project information brochures and documents.

Honorable Prime Minister along with his team of other ministers including deputy prime minister Mr. Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar visited DCA & FSCN’s stall and interacted with FSCN Chairperson Surya Bahadur Thapa, David Smith (Regional Representative, DCA South Asia), Andrew Pearlman (EEP Team leader), Rita Jaiswal Dhakal (Regional Head of  Humanitarian Response, South Asia) and other members of DCA team. He showed much interest towards the activities being conducted by FSCN and its partners and told that he was much impressed after knowing about the work of our organization and also thanked Mr. David Smith for the support being provided by DCA/NCA through “Earthquake Emergency Project” and told that he has similar expectations in future for reconstruction of Bungmati and other earthquake affected regions of Nepal.

It was the our great opportunity to highlight DCA/NCA/FSCN partnership programs in Bungmati specially “Bungmati Drinking Water  Supply Improvement Project” which is a Public Private Civil Society Partnership (PPCP) Model project for which we have spent NRS 8,025,142 in the total scheme cost of NRS 10,725,142.
