Human Rights, Governance and Democracy

Awareness, Lobby, Advocacy, Promotion of Human Rights Defenders, Human Rights Education (HRE), Research and publication, Rule of law, Right to information, Public hearing and social audit, Pluralism, and Election monitoring are the working areas. Currently, one project as detailed below is ongoing under this programme.


Strengthening Governance and Capacity Building of Community Organizations

FSCN is implementing a sub project which intends to strengthen the implementation of World Bank financed Poverty Alleviation Fund II (PAF-II). This sub-project is financed by the Citizen Action for Results, Transparency and Accountability (CARTA) programme being managed in Nepal by HELVETAS Nepal in partnership with the Partnership for Transparency Fund (PTF).


Objectives  1. To enable Community Organizations (COs) to monitor POs’ downward accountability
2. To increase knowledge and skill of COs on good governance, networking, and project management
3. To update/refine participatory tools and indicators for evaluation of institutional development of COs
4. To make COs able to self-review, evaluate their own institutional development and graduation process using participatory process
Location  Achham, Baitadi, Bajhang, Doti, Mahottari, Pyuthan, Rasuwa, Ramechhap, Rautahat and Siraha districts.
