Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and Environment

FSCN  work on the issues of awareness, advocacy and  lobby, capacity building, knowledge sharing, safe drinking water, nutrition, ODF and post ODF activities, activities against alcoholism and drug abuse, environment improvement/solid waste management, WASH cooperative formation, mobilization and promotion, and research and publication. Project implemented under this program are given below.

 Peoples’ Campaign for Water, Sanitation and Health III phase
Objectives 1.To increase advocacy and lobbying in bringing WASH strategy as per Sanitation and Hygiene Master Plan and increase awareness on knowledge, belief and practice changes of communities in WASH through various trainings, dialogue programs, meetings and group discussion
2.To increase the capacity of WASH- Cooperatives, V-WASH-CC members and stakeholders so that they could be able to manage the WASH issues and entrepreneurship in WASH. Also their enhanced capacity will make them able to prepare WASH action plans at their VDCs and Municipality
3.To develop WASH cooperatives in VDCs and Municipality to continue the WASH campaign including toilet construction, awareness, advocacy, lobbying and capacity development and institutionalize the revolving fund
4.To establish training and resource center for sustainability

Strengthening data based WASH accountability in three districts Siraha, Udayapur and Doti 
Objectives  1. To share Districts and VDCs ranking based on access to sanitation
2. To disseminate and reinforce key stakeholders’ knowledge and understanding on importance of ODF campaign and sustainability of WASH initiatives/progress in VDCs and district.
3. To contribute in preparation and implementation of VDC level ODF campaign and action plan
4. To develop enabling environment for achieving ODF VDCs and sustainability of WASH interventions through sensitizing key stakeholders and community structures like water user groups, CBOs, CFUG, youth groups, users groups and to organize National level workshop to share VDC and District WS learning.

Objectives 1.To promote awareness, advocacy, lobbying, build political commitment and trigger action on critical water and health issues caused by sanitary problems at community and district level
2. To build up capacity at (grass root level) community level and district level to accelerate increased sustainable and equitable access to water supply and adequate sanitation through effective information and knowledge sharing
3. To support the community initiation for the delivery of safe drinking water and sanitation
4. To promote access to basic water supply and sanitation services in order to support the socio-economic development and combat with water borne diseases
5. To generalize the problems due to the sanitation that pertain to public health and environmental sanity which are of local concerns and demands
6. To organize health camp in the community level regarding local health problems
