Report of Participatory Self Review & Planning Meeting
The People Campaign for Water, Sanitation and Health (PCWaSH) was a project implemented by Friends Service Council Nepal (FSCN) with the financial support of Simavi, the Netherlands. The duration of the project was for two years from January 2007 to December 2008. The project covered the five development committees Makarhar, Devdaha, Keruwani, Karahiya and Shiktwan of Rupandehi District which lies in the western part of Nepal. The project area consists of many socially and economically disadvantaged and socially excluded community groups, including Janjati (indigenous) and Dalit groups. The project specially focused on socially and economically marginalized people of rural Nepal. The project aimed to enhance the capacity of community people for the improvement of their health conditions through awareness and capacity building programs and through infrastructure support by the construction of pit latrines and tube-wells. Particularly the project intended to increase awareness of the community people in the project area regarding health, sanitation and safe drinking water
