Climate Change in Nepal

TOT on Health and Sanitation

TOT on Health and Sanitation Training was conducted to the PCWaSH committee’s members, local leaders & volunteers for capacity building & strengthening and to develop human resource in the local level on WASH issues, enhancing with their training skills in preparing community based training planning on WASH on the dated 27 to 31 July at Hotel Shikhar, Pokhara. Altogether 25 people were actively participated. Among them 14 were male and 11 were female.


Participatory Vulnerability Assessment (PVA)

PVA training was conducted to the PCWaSH Committees, sub committees; staff and board members The Program highlighted on the importance to analyze the problems and risks being faced by community in water, health sanitation sector and hence to draw the future action plan on dated 22-25 June 2009 at Butwal. Altogether 26 participants were involved in the Training.


Need identification & community planning Training

Need identification & community planning Training was organized from 16-18 September 2009 at Deakar of Kerawani VDC & Mirgauli of Makrahar VDC to find out community needs & solution by themselves in the field of water, health & sanitation and has been mainly focused on needs of the communities, prioritized that needs, divided that needs into two parts , meaning of project, plan for the better performance, way to implement the project, sustainability of the project, time frame and role and responsibility of community people and concern stakeholders for healthy environment. Altogether 59 committee members were actively participated including 34 female and 25 male participants.


Community Based Health & Sanitation Management Training

Community Based Health & Sanitation Management Training was organized for three days on the dated 4 – 12 August 2009 at five different places of five VDCs. The main objective of this training was to sensitize & aware about the WASH issues in the community and enhance their changing behavior in day-to-day work. Training had focused on present situation of community on WASH, community’s problem & issues and its tendency in the community for last five years as well coping strategies implementing by the communities. Altogether 100 PCWaSH sub committee’s members were actively participated in the training where 66 female and 34 male. Nine TOT participants.
